National Health Center Week: Shining A Light For The Community Health Leaders, Caregivers, And Patients At Capital City Nurses
National Health Center Week is always the second week of August, and it was instituted to celebrate the important work that community health centers provide to the people in the areas they serve. Promoted by the National Association of Community Health Centers, this is also a time when many health centers highlight the services they provide to their clients.
As the leading home health care provider in Alexandria, VA, Capital City Nurses is proud to participate in National Health Center Week. Many of the families in our community do not understand the full range of services we provide, and this week allows us to focus on the services we offer, the important role of community health leaders, and celebrate our caregivers and patients.
What We Do at Capital City Nurses
A good starting point is to take a closer look at the community-based services we offer at Capital City Nurses. As our in-home health care providers work with seniors in their homes, we are also actively involved in the communities in and around Alexandria, VA.
- In-home care – all our services are customized to meet the needs of the senior. We start each service with a detailed intake and assessment by an RN, allowing us to recommend the specific services and support that are matched to the senior. We offer companionship and light-duty support, as well as rehab and post-op care in the home or in a facility.
- Medication management – one of the common challenges for seniors is managing medication timing and dosages. Our caregivers support seniors in taking their medications at the right times and at the correct dosage.
- Private duty home care – we take the time to care for your loved one as we would our own. Our team of caregivers has the training, experience, and expertise to ensure your loved one is safe and secure. They monitor any changes in the senior and report if any concerns are noted. We also help to make the home safe for seniors, assessing safety issues that may change with the senior’s health and mobility.
- Senior companion programs – seniors are at a higher risk for depression, isolation, and social withdrawal. They may feel uncomfortable asking for help or having others in their home to provide assistance. Our professional caregivers are true companions, spending time doing things your loved one enjoys. We also help out around the home with meal preparation, light housekeeping duties, and helping seniors stay active in the community by providing transportation and companionship to these events.
The Benefits of In-Home Senior Care Services
Our professional senior care giving staff provides peace of mind for both the senior as well as the family. As a leading home care agency, we carefully match our caregivers with seniors, providing seamless service and support.
Capital City Nurses senior care services allow seniors to have the support they need to continue to enjoy living at home. They can stay active in their communities, visit with their families and friends, and live inthe comfort of their own home.
We are passionate about providing the best quality of senior care services 52 weeks a year. We are particularly proud to be able to highlight our services in the community during National Health Center Week from August 7th to the 13th, 2022.
