Caregiver Named to Frontline Honor Class of 2022

Frontline Honors: Sidi Kamara, Capital City Nurses

By Sophie Mimica| July 25, 2022

Sidratu “Sidi” Kamara, Caregiver for Capital City Nurses, has been named a 2022 Frontline Honors honoree by Home Health Care News.

To become a Frontline Honoree, an individual is nominated by their peers. The candidate must be a dedicated, high-performing frontline worker who delivers exceptional experiences and outcomes; a passionate worker who knows how to put their vision into action for the good of seniors and aging industry professionals; and an advocate for seniors, their industry, and their peers.

Home Health Care News caught up with Kamara to discuss their time in the home health care industry.

HHCH: What drew you to the Home Health Care Industry?

Kamara: The Home Health Care Industry allows me to truly make a difference in the lives of my clients and their families. I enjoy the personal relationships I build and the sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing I enhance an individual’s quality of life.

What is your favorite part about your job?

Most of us take our ability to manage activities of daily living for granted. For those who have disabilities or injuries, and aging adults, daily tasks such as grooming, toileting, eating and mobility may pose special challenges. This job gives me the opportunity to do meaningful work every day by helping my client manage their activities of daily living in their comfort of homes.

What is your biggest lesson learned since starting to work in the industry?

A personally rewarding career. Working in the industry gives me a deep sense of fulfillment and job satisfaction. While other jobs may offer some comparable benefits, not many offer home health’s potent combination of flexible schedules, career growth and most importantly, the opportunity to do meaningful work that changes lives, families and communities.
