Capital City Nurses’ TeamOn a beautiful day in October, the Capital City Nurses’ Team contributed to the total raised amount of $698,010.

Caitlin joins the CCN team after serving as a bedside cardiology nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She received her B.A. in biology from Colgate University in 2003, where she was a four-year member of the Women’s Lacrosse Team. She obtained her Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 2011 upon completion of the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program. Prior to her career change, Caitlin spent five years as a Middle School Science teacher at Gilman School in Baltimore and has written science curriculum for a London-based international school system. Her clinical interests include the psychobiological care of elders, lateral integration of healthcare, and caregiver fatigue.

We are pleased to announce that Mandy Newell has been promoted to Assistant Director of Operations for Capital City Nurses, LLC.  Mandy is responsible for directing all coordinating and customer service functions.

Capital City Nurses is known for providing exceptional care. But we’re also known for the way we facilitate that care. Mandy has an integral role in these efforts.

Our experienced, knowledgeable care consultants & coordinators are more than just schedulers. They’re available 24 hours a day to answer your questions, help with placements and referrals, and make sure that their clients are well cared for and safe. These valuable professionals hold college & advanced degrees.

It’s difficult to overstate the importance of engaged care consultants & coordinators who understand the complexities of every case. Our care coordinators are familiar with the strengths and preferences of each caregiver and match clients and caregivers mindfully. If a match isn’t right for either the client or the caregiver, the care coordinator will be glad to place a different caregiver who is better suited to the assignment.

We are so proud to share the news that Capital City Nurses’ Staff RN Dawn Warner and her family are on a Service trip to Nicaragua to help a children’s orphanage in Puerto Cabrezes. They delivered medical items as well as everyday living tools to help these children.

We cannot wait to see the pictures that Dawn and her family took during their special trip. We are so proud of the work she and her family are doing! And of course we will have to post on our CCN Facebook so everyone can see what great nurses do – on and off the clock!!

On behalf of all of us at CCN we donated toothbrushes and toothpaste for 100, as well as arts and crafts supplies. The name of Dawn’s church is Maryland Christian Fellowship Community Church and it is located in Greenbelt.
